Hi, I'm David and I run Ackerman Aviation. I’ve been in interested in flying since I was a child. My grandfather was a military pilot and I must have inherited the flying gene from him. I took my first flight lesson shortly after I moved to Ames and I was hooked from the beginning. I’ve been actively involved in the Iowa aviation community ever since. I’m now a commercial pilot and a flight instructor offering flight training in Ames, Iowa. I have experience flying aircraft ranging from single seat gliders to high performance and twin engine airplanes. My full FAA qualifications are listed below.
