Both VFR and IFR proficiencies are listed below. In many cases, some of the buttons and settings will not be connected for a specific plane, so some details will vary from plane to plane.

General

• Explain the difference between the top and bottom rows of buttons in the center
• Demonstrate how to change the audio source you are listening on
• Demonstrate how to change the comm radio you are talking on
• Demonstrate how to listen to a frequency that you are not talking on
• Explain the function of the 'auto' button (if equipped)

Plane specific items

• State which item, if any, each of the center group of buttons are connected to
• State which item, if any, each setting on the right knob is connected to

Marker Beacons (IFR)

• Show how to turn on/off the audio alert for marker beacons
• Describe what does the TST button does:
  • Explain when you would use it
  • Explain when you should NOT use it (plane specific)
• Explain the SENS button and the difference between the two modes
